DENIC eG invites you to the Internet Governance Forum Germany (IGF-D) 2024, which will take place on 11 September 2024 as a hybrid event in Berlin.
DENIC has taken over the secretariat of the IGF-D since the end of 2022. The German internet governance community will come together at the event on 11 September 2024 in Berlin to discuss current topics in internet governance and digital policy. This time, the Global Digital Compact, digital identities and the sustainable operation of the internet will be at the centre of the exchange between the participating interest groups. The IGF-D is made up of members of the German Bundestag, representatives from government, civil society, science, business and the technical community as well as young representatives who are expected to take part in the hybrid event both on site and online. The event starts at 09:00 with a welcome coffee and, after the one-hour welcome from 09:30, goes into medias res at 10:30. The still incomplete agenda includes presentations and panels entitled ‘United we stand? Lessons and consequences of the Global Digital Compact’, “Children, their rights and the metaverse” and ’Internet = climate killer! How can the Internet be operated sustainably? Internet infrastructures: A sustainable way forward!’. The event day will end at 18:00 after a summary from 17:45 to 17:15.
The ‘XV German Internet Governance Forum (IGF-D)’ will take place on 11 September 2024 in the ‘Auditorium Friedrichstraße’, Friedrichstraße 180 in 10117 Berlin and online. Participation is free of charge, registration is required.
